FACILITY MANAGER
The Southern Virginia
Recreation Facilities Authority is seeking applicants for the position of Facility
Manager for the
SmithRiver Sports Complex.The successful candidate will be responsible
for the overall management and operation of a 90 acre, six field outdoor sports
complex consisting of three top quality, manicured Bermuda T-10 fields,two FieldTurf synthetic fields, 3-5 acres
pond landscaping,numerous shrubs and
newly planted trees and general maintenance.Duties include mowing, edging, fertilization, turf maintenance,
irrigation, field setup, trash removal, street and parking lot maintenance,
equipment maintenance and oversight of part-time staff.
Qualifications:A Turf Grass Management degree is preferred
with two years experience as a golf course superintendent, athletic complex
manager, or medium-to-large grounds maintenance operation, previous experience
in sports field maintenance desirable.Candidate
should possess experience operating field maintenance equipment, be in good
physical condition, have knowledge of field sports layouts and possess valid
driver’s license.Salary commensurate
with experience.The position will
remain open until filled.

The Episcopal high school located in Alexandria Virginia is
currently seeking an athletic field specialist. We have 12.5 acres of
athletic fields, two patriot bermudagrass fields,two synthetic
fields(fieldturf) and three bluegrass fields.
The main responsibilities are field layout,lining,game
preparation, fertilization,slicing,topdressing and detail. Other
responsibilities include but not limited too are snow removal,landscape
maintenance,irrigation system maintenance & repair. Equipment
maintenance and repair and policing of grounds. Qualified candidate
must be an independent, self starter that can work at high level with
minimumsupervision. He or she must be willing to work some weekends for
both athletic events and campus events and be on call 24/7 for weather
related emergences.
